AT&T Launches 4G LTE Chicago, IL

On Sunday, September 18th AT&T officially launched their 4G LTE service in Chicago, IL providing faster data access for customers. Their LTE service is designed to offer customers a service that is 4 times faster than their current 3G HSPA+ network, which should yield speeds comparable to Verizon's 4G LTE network. The only big difference is Verizon 4G is currently available in 143 markets, while AT&T's initial LTE launch only includes 5 markets currently. The area in dark blue represents their new 4G LTE network in the picture above. In the Chicago area 4G LTE coverage extends all the way from Waukegan, IL in the north, Aurora and Naperville, IL in the west and Tinley Park and Hammond Gary, IL in the south.
