LightSquared Leaked Reports Indicate Network Interferes with Great Majority of GPS Receivers

Leaked reports from government test drafts indicate LightSquared's technology is still causing "harmful interference" to the majority of GPS receivers. LightSquared calls the allegations "patently false", adding "We are outraged by the illegal leak of incomplete government data to news organizations. This breach attempts to draw an inaccurate conclusion to negatively influence the future of LightSquared and narrowly serve the business interests of the GPS industry." They believe that the tests were conducted at power levels up to 15 times higher than what would actually be used in real world applications. LightSquared committed to working at lower power levels to minimize interference, and believe these reports to be erroneous. The currently have 30+ customers like Sprint and Best Buy hoping to use the network at a promised $7 per gigabyte price point. They have the 'ok' from the government to build the network, but won't allow them to activate until it passes their final round of testing.
