Metro PCS May Have The First LTE 4G Network

There has been a lot of news floating around about Verizon's 4G LTE network slated for release later this year. However, there hasn't been as much talk about the LTE network being developed by metroPCS, a company that is known for offering competitive pricing and devices to certain urban markets in the US. Reports are indicating that metroPCS's LTE network will be going live in September - two months before Verizon's - with LTE-capable phones to be available during the holiday season. Earlier this month we wrote about the Samsung SCH-r900, the first approved LTE capable phone approved by the FCC. It looks like metroPCS are putting themselves in a position to have the first commercially available 4G network as well as the first LTE capable handset!
