Sprint Unveils Network Blueprint, Commits To Clearwire

According to International Business Times Sprint's network operations and wholesale president Steven Elfman spoke about their commitment to to Clearwave. Elfman said "Our 4G is with Clearwire," adding they have no plans to make any changes. Clearwire has recently secured $1.3 billion in debt financing to continue their build out of 4G WiMAX service. This decision is part of Sprint's plan to combine and roll out multimode technologies, which will allow them to offer service on a variety of cellular frequencies. Combining technologies will save Sprint Nextel between $10-11 billion over the next seven years as the networks are combined. When this change occurs in 2013 they hope to offer a device that's capable of 3G CDMA, 4G WiMAX and 4G LTE.
