According to After Dawn, Verizon Wireless has announced their first 4G-capable smartphone, the HTC Thunderbolt. This device is remarkably similar to the 4G HTC EVO that Sprint launched for their latest WiMAX network last year. Like the EVO, the Thunderbolt will feature a 4.3" super LCD display, 1Ghz processor, Android 2.2 with HTC Sense 2.0 and a mobile hotspot feature to share your phone's 3G/4G connection with up to 8 WiFi-enabled devices. You will also get an 8MP standard camera and 1.3MP front facing camera for video chat, along with Dolby and SRS surround sound for improved sound while listening to music or watching videos. This device will be compatible with Verizon's large existing 3G network, as well as their new 4G LTE network, which can provide download speeds of 5-12Mbps (currently available in 38 markets).
