There have been conflicting reports circulating throughout the web regarding whether the XOHM devices currently on the market have ports into which you can plug an antenna to improve your performance, a la EVDO modems. Some blogs and tech sites were reporting that one downfall of the new devices was that they did not include a way to attach an antenna - but we are happy to report that that is incorrect.
Both the Zyxel Home Modem and the Samsung ExpressCard have two built-in antenna ports. The Zyxel has two SMA female RF antenna ports located on the back of the device, between the power input and the ethernet/LAN ports; the ExpressCard's ports are located on the underside of the card beneath the black flap.

While it has been confirmed that it is possible to hook an antenna up to your device, no antennas are currently available. Wilson Antennas, who manufacture many of the antennas and amplifiers we sell at 3Gstore.com, is in the process of testing a variety of antennas, including mountable and indoor use. Additionally, it is possible that the same booster antennas that are extremely popular and effective for 3G aircards and phones MAY work with WiMAX, but that is yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned with 4Ginfo.com - we will keep you up to date on these developments as they happen!
